Fun in the Sun

The Bernals are just cooling off in their newly air conditioned apartment and Kyle has a new BFF Molly who is a darling 6 1/2 year old that lives right around the corner or across the back of the next door neighbor. Cruz is up to 14 lbs and chugging the formula. All in all it's been a good "summer" so far. (We will not complain about the heat.) Til later.

Another One

For those of you that know our family and especially Dane, he has kind of a way with animals. That's what made him such a great rancher for so many years. And while ranching he was always bringing home wonderful new and exotic "pets" We've had an owl that many mistook as the notorious "spotted" variety, a crow that we raised, bummer lambs, calves, horses, turtles, etc. Well, the Good Lord decided that maybe we need a raccoon around the place to make things exciting. We think it was probably living across the street and then working it's way up the creek. We have no more crawfish in the creek where we used to have dozens. We pretty much live and let live (except the bunnies that come from next door - way different story), but when this little critter decided to get into our chicken coop and raid the dog/cat food canisters that we have stored in them, it was war for Dane. He's been stalking this critter for a while, and he bagged him this morning. The funny thing was, that when he came back in the house first thing this morning, Dane was all out of breath and excited. Apparently, this little critter gave him a run for his money. Dane's exact words were "I forgot how onrey raccoons are" and then a little later "they roar like a lion" It was pretty funny. Well, he (Rocky the raccon) is off to the woods along the river. He was rather ungrateful for the transplant, but Dane said he was doing just fine.

Catching up one more time.

Well alot has happened since March. The biggest news is that Samuel Cruz Bernal Tutor graced us with his presence on our 32nd anniversary. I think Brilee and Martin just wanted to give us something extra special to make up for hardships we endured in the past. Thank you so much. Kyle completed his first t-ball season, graduated from pre-school and is now enrolled at Lincoln elementary in Mrs. Kathy Milligan's room for Kindergarten this next year. Braiden and Jarrett both completed their first year of pre-school and if you want to see something astounding check out Gemma's blog with the before and after shots of Braiden at the beginning and end of the year. WoW!!! Sissy (Audrey) turns 1 in 7 days and we just can't believe where the time goes. Life has slowed somewhat as we get into the rhythm of summer. God laid on my heart that Dane needs to be still and silent up in the hills to help with the noise stress that he experiences everyday at Anderson's, so we invested in camping equipment and hope to do some serious camping. Propane is so expensive that we decided to go back to wood, so will turn the camp trips into wood gathering trips too. Ought to be a great summer. What could be more fun than to take a bunch of young boys (and 1 girl) into the hills. My stimulus for starting to post again, is because I got a camera for my birthday, thanks to my mom and the people at my office, so I hope to have more pictures. All for now, will catch up. In the mean time, we were enjoying chocolate and biscuits for breakfast this Sunday.

What's up!

Things have finally started to calm down at the Tutor's house. It looks like Dane might have some time to work on his different projects. If only we could sell the travel trailer and a couple other of his extra, never going to get to them projects, life would be every so much simplier. We'll leave that in God's hands as it is all his anyway. We spent Sunday night with the bible study over at Ron and Kathy Goodrich watching "The Pineapple Story" about a missionary's grappling with who owns what amongst a people group who are complusive theives. Very funny and definitely a huge insight into how God really owns everything. Monday was a potluck for the Impact youth leaders and council. Very funny night with lots of laughter courtesy of Dylan Brown and Tori Frampton. Everyone had lots to eat and it was a great night of fellowship. Brilee is feeling well, just little things (swollen ankles, torn stomach muscles from doing an emergency white cap drill", and normal aches and pains.) Her spring quarter should be a lot more laid back, but keep her in your prayers for a safe delivery and for her being able to juggle all. Until later.

Exciting news

Just thought I would post the new addition of the Daily Record's Bridal Issue Magazine that will be coming out. They decided to use Brilee's and Maddy's picture on the back. Way cool.

catch up

Lots of exciting things have been happening. Well not really, but some exciting things. Stacey and Martin attended DYC (District Youth Conference) in Portland over President's Day week-end. Martin had us all praying for no "glory days" and God was so gracious as we took 49 high schoolers and 12 college age along with 6 of us old timers. Erik with a K was once again in charge, but I believe he was really listening to God and counsel and because of this year's DYC was a phenomenal experience culminating in very moving alter call on Sunday night. What a joy it was seeing Martin step up to the roll of prayer warrior and Kim Lewis one of our bible study family who also attended be drawn into the role of mentor and prayer warrior. Everyone was sick after (Influenza type B) but luckily Martin and I have been relatively well.
